| 簡介內容 | The oldest and the largest institution of higher education in the Russian Far East, Far Eastern National University was established in 1899 by a special order of Emperor Nicholas II as the Institute of Oriental Studies.
Nowadays FENU comprises 24 institutes, 47 schools, 9 branch institutions abroad and 153 departments. FENU personnel incorporates about 4,000 faculty and staff members, including nearly 970 Doctors of Science and Candidates of Science. Nearly 30 foreign specialists work at FENU institutes and schools. At present, more than 30,000 students are enrolled in 585 educational programs.
FENU is a leading center in fundamental and applied research in physics, mathematics, biology and chemistry, and offers prominent programs in law and oriental studies.
FENU has 13 dissertation committees. These committees include 10 Doctorate ones: Law, Biology, Political Science, Philology, Chemistry, Geosciences, History, Physics and Mathematics, Economics, Pedagogy.
